In 2005-2006, she worked at the Print Department at the National and University Library in Zagreb, and in 2006-2008, she curated the fine and applied arts collections at the Museum of Slavonia in Osijek. In 2008, she was employed as a junior research and teaching assistant, at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences enrolling at the same time in the doctoral study programme in information sciences \u2013 museology. In 2014, she obtained a PhD degree in Museology by defending the thesis titled\u00a0<em>Museum as a Multimodal Communication System<\/em>. In 2019, she was appointed assistant professor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">Her academic work includes participation in scientific and professional conferences in Croatia and abroad and publishing of papers related to the fields of heritage theory, art museums, museum education and media and communication in museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">As researcher, \u017deljka participated in the following projects: (1)&nbsp;<em>Croatian Identity in Place Marketing and Development Strategy&nbsp;<\/em>(2008 \u2013 2013), headed by Prof Tomislav \u0160ola, Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zagreb; project funded by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education; (2)&nbsp;<em>Jankovi\u0107 Castle: historic site, generating sustainable development of the Ravni Kotari region<\/em>&nbsp;(2011-2014), project funded by the European Commission \u2013 Program: Preparatory actions for preserving and restoring cultural heritage in conflict areas in the Western Balkans for the year 2010 (Reference: UROPEAID\/131266\/C\/ACT\/MULTI); (3)&nbsp;<em>Museum Interpretation in Croatia and Slovenia: Art Museum Permanent Exhibitions<\/em>&nbsp;(2014 \u2013 2015) \u2013 bilateral project as part of Scientific and Technological Cooperation Programme between Croatia and Slovenia; project headed by Prof \u017darka Vuji\u0107, Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zagreb; and funded by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education; (4)&nbsp;<em>Croatia and Central Europe: Art and Politics in the Late Modern Period<\/em>&nbsp;(2014 \u20132017), headed by Prof Dragan Damjanovi\u0107, Department of Art History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zagreb, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation; (5) Art and the State in Croatia from the Enlightenment to the Present, headed by Prof. Dragan Damjanovi\u0107, Department of Art History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zagreb, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">She is actively engaged in professional associations aiming to establish links between museological theories and museum practice. She is a member of the Committee for Education and Cultural Action of the International Council of Museums (ICOM CECA) and the Association of Critical Heritage Studies.
